Privacy Policy

A little bit about the information we use

PRIVACY POLICY

I recognise that privacy of your personal information is also important. Below is information on what types of personal information I receive and collect when you use and visit my website, and how I safeguard your information. I never sell your personal information to third parties.

LOG FILES

As with most other websites, I collect and use the data contained in log files. The information in the log files include your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider, such as AOL or Shaw Cable), the browser you used to visit my website (such as Internet Explorer or Firefox), the time you visited my site and which pages you visited throughout my site.

EMAIL ADDRESS

This is a free content site. I do not require any information from you (not even a user name or password – unless you are posting a comment). I do not sell any information from my site to any outside party. The only e-mail sent from my website is in response to an inquiry that you may send me or as a result of joining my mailing list. If anything comes to your attention that could potentially be a violation of this policy, please let me know immediately so that I can investigate it and try to correct accordingly.

COOKIES AND WEB BEACONS

I do use cookies to store information, such as your personal preferences when you visit my site. This could include only showing you a popup once in your visit, or the ability to login to some of my features, such as forums. I also use third party advertisements to support my site. Some of these may use technology such as cookies and web beacons on my site, which will also send these advertisers (such as Google through the Google AdSense program) information including your IP address, your ISP, the browser you used to visit my site, and in some cases, whether you have Flash installed. This is generally used for geo-targeting purposes (showing New York real estate ads to someone in New York, for example) or showing certain ads based on specific sites visited (such as showing cooking ads to someone who frequents cooking sites).

You can chose to disable or selectively turn off cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with my site as well as other websites. This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts. I use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit my website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.

ABOUT GOOGLE AND THE DOUBLECLICK DART COOKIE

Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/. If you choose to leave a comment on my site your name, email address and URL will be collected and stored on my server. I may use your email address to respond to your comments, but will never sell, rent, share, trade or give away any of your personal information. I will disclose information about individual users to governmental or judicial authorities or law enforcement agencies, or to other individuals or entities in response to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal processes. Further, The Fashion Police may share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities or suspected fraud, or to enforce or apply the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy. You should be aware that when you voluntarily disclose personally identifiable information (e.g e-mail address) via comments and the likes on my website, that information can be collected and used by third parties and may result in unsolicited messages from other posters or third parties.
